Description
Progress Profiles Prodeso Eco Stick Decoupling Membrane is a 4mm thick, self-adhesive version of the Prodeso Eco Decoupling Membrane, designed for quicker and easier installation. It protects tiled surfaces from substrate issues like cracking and movement and can be used on smooth cement screeds, old flooring, green screeds, and wood substrates. The membrane is highly resistant to chemicals, including saline solutions, acids, alkalis, alcohol, and oils.
Supplied in 30m x 1m rolls, this membrane is made from high-density polyethene with a grid of dovetail cavities for secure tile bonding. The back side features a non-woven polypropylene fabric with a pressure-sensitive adhesive for strong adhesion to the substrate.
The Prodeso Eco Stick Decoupling Membrane neutralizes differential movement between the substrate and the flooring, preventing cracks and delamination. It’s ideal for problematic substrates like timber and cracked screeds.
Additionally, it can be used as a waterproofing layer in wet indoor environments like bathrooms and kitchens by sealing joints and edges with Proband 150 tape and Proband Koll adhesive. The membrane’s channels allow vapour pressure to escape, making it suitable for moisture-absorbing substrates and ensuring even heat distribution with underfloor heating.

Installation:
1. Ensure the substrate is solid, level, and capable of bearing weight. It should be free from substances like oil or grease that might affect the adhesion of the self-adhesive film. Thoroughly clean the surface to remove any dust or dirt before applying the membrane.
2. Cut the Prodeso Eco Stick Decoupling Membrane to the desired length.
3. Align the cut section of the membrane on the substrate, then peel off the silicone backing film.
4. Use a plastic trowel or weighted roller to press the membrane firmly into the substrate, activating the pressure-sensitive adhesive for a strong bond.
5. Lay the next section of the membrane, ensuring it is aligned with the previous one without overlapping.
For Waterproofing:
6. Apply Proband KOLL / Proband KOLL AB Adhesive along the joint between two adjacent membrane sections using the flat side of a notched trowel. Cover a width of about 200mm, filling the membrane cavities and leaving a thin adhesive layer on top.
7. Place Proband 150 Sealing Tape over the joint on the Proband KOLL, pressing it firmly to ensure adhesion and smoothing out any creases.
8. Apply Proband KOLL / Proband KOLL AB Adhesive on the edges where the membrane meets vertical walls, covering a width of about 100mm. Fill the membrane cavities and leave a thin adhesive layer on top, then apply the adhesive to the wall surface up to a height of about 100mm.
9. Place Proband 150 Sealing Tape over the Proband KOLL Adhesive along the joint. Press firmly and smooth the tape to ensure proper adhesion, avoiding any creases
After the Prodeso Eco Stick Decoupling Membrane has been installed, the flooring can be laid immediately on top using a suitable tile adhesive.
