Description
Schlüter DITRA SOUND is a bonded impact sound insulation system designed for tile coverings. It is made from a dense polyethylene mat, featuring an anchoring fleece laminated on both sides to ensure a strong bond with the tile adhesive. This system has been independently tested by the DIN EN ISO 140-8 (BS EN ISO 140-8) standard.
In a complete assembly, Schlüter DITRA SOUND provides an impact sound insulation improvement (ΔLW) of 13 dB. However, the actual reduction in impact sound may vary depending on specific site conditions and the construction system used.
Installation Instructions:
Surface Preparation: Ensure the substrate is level, stable, and ready to bear weight.
Adhesive Application: Use a notched trowel (recommended size 3 x 3mm or 4 x 4mm) to apply the adhesive suitable for the substrate.
Embedding the Mat: Fully embed the underside (printed side) of Schlüter DITRA SOUND into the adhesive, ensuring the mechanical anchoring of the fabric.
Curing: Allow for proper curing time of the adhesive according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
Tile Installation: Install tiles directly over Schlüter DITRA SOUND using the thin-bed method. The adhesive will bond with the fleece on the topside of the mat, ensuring complete system bonding.
Please Note: A 3x3mm or 4x4mm notched trowel must be used to install DITRA SOUND to the substrate for optimal results.
