Description
Schlüter-DITRA-HEAT is a polypropylene membrane with a cut-back stud structure and an anchoring fleece laminated on the underside, designed for tile coverings. It provides uncoupling, crack-bridging, waterproofing, and vapor pressure equalization and serves as a base for heating cables.
The substrate must be level and load-bearing. DITRA-HEAT is installed using a thin-bed tile adhesive applied with a 6 x 6 mm notched trowel. The fleece embeds fully into the adhesive for a strong mechanical bond. Follow the adhesive’s curing time.
For floors, heating cables can be installed immediately with 9 cm spacing (every third stud ≙ 136 W/m²). On walls, cables are installed once the adhesive sets, with 6 cm (every second stud ≙ 200 W/m²) or 9 cm spacing. Mats are recommended for wall applications.
Tiles or stone coverings are applied directly over DITRA-HEAT using the thin-bed method, ensuring proper bonding with the stud structure.
DITRA-HEAT is waterproof, chemically resistant, and suitable for bonded waterproofing assemblies. The Schlüter-DITRA-HEAT-E-CT tester monitors the resistance of heating cables and sensors during installation, alerting the installer if damage occurs. It powers off automatically after 60 minutes.
