MoreBond Rapid C2: A flexible, rapid setting, cementitious, wall and floor tile adhesive.

Kelmore’s MoreBond Rapid C2 is a polymer-modified, flexible, rapid-setting, cementitious tile adhesive for walls and floors. This smooth, slump-free adhesive has enhanced adhesion ensuring numerous types of tiles, such as porcelain, ceramic, and natural stone can be confidently fixed to a wide range of backgrounds, including heated screeds. Allowing bed depths up to 15mm, MoreBond Rapid C2 has a pot life of 45 minutes, an open time of 25 minutes and is set and ready for grouting after 3 hours. This adhesive is suitable for interior and exterior use and in wet areas, including swimming pools.

Application:
MoreBond Rapid C2 can be used up to 15mm thick. Apply the mixed adhesive to the wall or floor before using a notched trowel to serrate consistent, straight ribs of adhesive. Bed in the tiles within the open time ensuring good contact with the adhesive. The adhesive coverage behind the tile must be sufficient for the given application and the specific tile being fixed. Any adhesive that forms a skin must be removed and fresh adhesive re-applied. Where solid bed fixing is required, as far as possible the adhesive under the tile should be free of voids and fully supported. To achieve this, in addition to trowelling the background, the tile may also require back buttering or trowelling. Clean any adhesive from the tile face and grout joints as work proceeds and before the adhesive has set.

Coverage:
The coverage of the adhesive will depend on several factors including the smoothness of the surface, the tile thickness, and the adhesive bed’s depth. To cover 1m2, approximately 1.25kg of powder will be required for every mm thickness of solid bed adhesive.

Based on this, a 20-kilogram bag of adhesive will cover the following approximate areas:

For a 1.5mm thick adhesive bed, it will cover about 10.6m²
For a 2mm thick adhesive bed, it will cover about 8m²
For a 2.5mm thick adhesive bed, it will cover about 6.4m²
For a 3mm thick adhesive bed, it will cover about 5.3m²
For a 4mm thick adhesive bed, it will cover about 4m²
For a 5mm thick adhesive bed, it will cover about 3.2m²
